Home Remedies for Corns

Chalk powder made into a thick paste by adding water is very effective when it is applied on a corn.

Liquorice powder mixed with sesame oil or mustard oil and made to thick paste, applied 2-3 times a day.

Pumice stones are very useful in treating corns. Pumice stone is a rough volcanic stone. Try rubbing the stone on wet and moist feet. This will wear off the dead cells that are present on the affected area.

Castor oil is an age-old Indian traditional home remedy for corns. Castor oild applying on the affected area directly 3 times a day will make the area harder so that it can be peeled off easily with a pumice stone. Otherwise, castor oil can also be used as a shield. Buy a round shaped pad from pharmacies and stick these pads on the corns after applying castor oil and then stick an adhesive tape all around the corners to have them a firm grip. Wear cotton socks to prevent any dripping of the oil through the pads and prevent staining.

Place a mildly squeezed lemon on the size of the corn or a slice of a pineapple and attach it with an adhesive tape or a band-aid to hold it in place. Leave it overnight for fast relief from pain.

Papaya piece or juice placed on the corn leaving overnight will peel off the corn naturally, as papaya has got natural healing properties for treating corns.

Make a solution with lime juice and baking soda and apply this mixture on the corns leaving overnight for a week. This will make the corns to dry shortly break off.

A foot shower with a combination of lukewarm water, Epsom salt, and Chamomile tea is therapeutically good in softening the corn.

A combination of tea tree oil and Apple cider vinegar helps in peeling off corns. Firstly, soak your foot in warm water with a pinch of baking soda mixed to it and then swab apple cider vinegar with a cotton ball directly on the corn. Try giving a very mild pressure for few minutes. Allow the corn to dry and then apply tea tree oil and then allow it to dry for another 5 minutes. Repeat this for few days till the corns drop off.
