10 Natural Home Remedies For Dandruff




Find below some of the natural home remedies for treating dandruff at home with ingredients available in your kitchen

Curd



Curd with its acidic properties help fight with dandruff. Ferment a small amount of curd that is enough to cover your entire scalp for 2 days. Apply this fermented curd to your scalp and keep it on one for one hour and then wash off with a mild shampoo and water. Do this twice a week for better results.


Fenugreek



Menthol is an herb, it has scalp soothing and anti-fungal properties. Soak few seeds of fenugreek in water overnight and grind this to a fine paste in the morning and apply on the scalp and leave it on for 30 minutes to 45 minutes and then wash with a shampoo. Use this method regularly to see better results. Menthol is also helpful in treating other hair and skin problems such as hair fall,
itchy and dry scalp, acne etc.

Henna



Mix henna,
lemon juice, amla, tea powder, and curd and add few drops of any hair oil to this. Keep this mixture aside for 10 to 12 hours and then apply it on your hair and leave it on for 1 hour. Wash this off with a mild shampoo and water.  

Neem leaves



Has got an anti-septic, anti-fungal, and anti-bacterial properties that are highly effective in treating dandruff. Boil some
neem leaves in water and then use this water to rinse your hair.

Aloe vera gel



Contains healing antibacterial and antifungal properties. Apply fresh aloe vera gel on to your scalp to keep the
dandruff away, keep this gel on to your scalp for half an hour. Wash your hair with a shampoo.

Basil leaves



Tulasi has been used for ages due to its healing properties. Make a paste with tulasi leaves and amla powder mixed with water and massage on the scalp and then leave it on scalp for 30 minutes or so and then rinse your hair with water.


Gram flour or Besan



Is an effective cleansing agent that removes dirt and is very handy to treat dandruff problem. Apply
Besan mixed with curd on to your scalp and wash after 20 to 30 minutes to have a dandruff free hair.

Apple



An
 apple a day keeps the doctor away. Well, this can help keep your dandruff away too! Apple has anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal properties. Make a paste with apple and orange taken equal quantity and apply it on to the scalp. Rinse your hair after 30 minutes with a mild shampoo.

Ginger and beetroot



Make a paste with ginger and beetroot and then massage your hair with this paste at night and wash it in the morning.  This is very effective in treating
dandruff and you will see the difference in about 4 to 5 attempts.

Lime juice



The acids in the lime scrubs out the dead cells and thus cure dandruff. Add a tbsp of
lime juice to water in your last rinse and wash your hair with this water.
