Morning Sickness And Dizziness During Pregnancy

What is Morning Sickness ?

In the first trimester your hormone changes can make you nausea and vomiting. This is called "morning sickness".  Although it can occur at any time of day but this usually subsides by the end of second trimester.

Try doing the below to minimize morning sickness

  • Try eating several small meals instead of 3 large meals to keep your stomach empty.
  • Do not lie down immediately after meals.
  • Try to eat dry toasted or dry cereals before you get out of bed in the morning.
  • Try to eat bland foods that are easy to digest and low in fat such as rice, cereal, and bananas.
  • Eat ice chips, sip on water or clear soft drinks.
  • Avoid any pungent smells that upset your stomach.
Dizziness During Pregnancy

Many women complain of dizziness and lightheadedness throughout their pregnancy. Fainting is usually rare but can occur even in some healthy pregnant women. There are various reasons for these symptoms such as the growth of more blood vessels, the pressure of expanding uterus on blood vessels, and the body's need for food.  All these can make a pregnant woman feel dizzy and lightheaded.

Try doing the below to minimize Dizziness during pregnancy

  • Stand up slowly.
  • Avoid standing for too long.
  • Don't skip meals.
  • Lie on your left side.
  • Wear loose clothing
