Body Changes During Pregnancy

Body Pain During Pregnancy

As your uterus keeps expanding, you may start feeling aches and pains in your abdomen, back, thighs, and groin area.

Many women also experience backaches and pain near the pelvic bone due to the pressure of the baby's head, loosening joints, and increased weight gain.

Some women complain of pain that runs from the lower back towards down the back of one leg, to the knee, and foot. This is called sciatica. This is believed to occur when the uterus puts pressure on the sciatic nerve.

Try doing the below:

Lie down, rest, and apply heat compressions.

Call the doctor if the pain does not get better with the above.

Breast Changes During Pregnancy

A woman's breasts increase in its size and fullness during pregnancy due to hormone changes and even get bigger as the pregnancy progresses to prepare for breastfeeding.

Your breasts feel fuller, heavy, and tender. In the
third trimester, some women start to leak colostrum milk from their breasts. Colostrum milk is the first milk that your breasts produce at birth. It is a thick yellowish fluid containing antibodies that protect newborns from any infections.

Try doing the below:

Wear a good supportive maternity bra and keep pads in bra to absorb any leakage.
