10 Weeks Pregnant

At week ten, you and your partner may start looking for ways to save money, so that you will have additional money when your baby arrives. It is the time for working women who are pregnant to put this to your boss and colleagues and discuss what you expect from them and how the maternity leave can be handled.

Week 10 pregnency

Your baby’s tail disappears.

Your baby's face is broad with her eyes still quite and her ears set low.

Baby is developing the muscles in her face which will allow her to suck.

Your baby's internal organs, such as liver and pancreas are growing along nicely.

Your baby’s hair follicles are growing.

The umbilical cord joins the abdomen of the fetus to the placenta. The placenta is attached to the wall of the uterus, which absorbs nutrients from the woman’s bloodstream. The cord passes nutrients and oxygen to the fetus and takes away the wastes from the fetus.

The brain forms brain cells at a rate of 250,000 per minute.

Your pregnancy symptoms at 10 weeks pregnant :

May have pains and aches in your tummy, as your baby is growing and start putting a pressure on organs and muscles.

Your sleep may get disturbed.

Vaginal discharge may increase.

You see real changes in your belly and boobs getting bigger around this week.

What you can do at 10 weeks pregnant:

Get your nuchal translucency scan done.

May schedule for the CVS (Chorionic Villus Sampling) and/or amniocentesis if opted.

Nice if you can start saving for your baby.

Shopping for maternity clothes is a nice idea, as your clothes will not fit to your body now.

What to eat:

You do not need to eat for two, but eat the right food at right time keeping your baby in mind.

Include leafy vegetables, Apples, plums, peaches, bananas, avocados, blueberries, broccoli, and cabbage in your diet.

  • Fish oil as it contains omega 3 polyunsaturated fatty acids, which are great babies developing their central nervous systems, but do not overdo it.
  • Whole meal bread, pasteurized Yoghurt, chicken, meat, fully cooked Eggs, and salads with leafy vegetables
